He is often referred to as &#8220;the founder&#8221;\u00a0<em>Kaiso<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>\u014c<\/em><em>sensei<\/em>, &#8220;Great Teacher&#8221;.The son of a landowner from\u00a0Tanabe, Ueshiba studied a number of martial arts in his youth, and served in the\u00a0Japanese Army\u00a0during the\u00a0Russo-Japanese War. After being discharged in 1907, he moved to\u00a0Hokkaid\u014d\u00a0as the head of a pioneer settlement; here he met and studied with\u00a0Takeda Sokaku, the founder of\u00a0Dait\u014d-ry\u016b aiki-j\u016bjutsu. On leaving Hokkaido in 1919, Ueshiba joined the\u00a0\u014cmoto-ky\u014d\u00a0movement, a\u00a0Shinto\u00a0sect, in\u00a0Ayabe, where he served as a martial arts instructor and opened his first dojo. In 1963, when he was in his third year of junior high, he joined the Sugamo Kenshyukan Dojo headed by Noboru Ishibashi Sensei, and started his aikido training under the instruction of Shoji Nishio Shihan. In 1966, he started training at the Hombu Dojo as well. After graduating from Dokkyo University in 1970, he spent several years as a salary man before establishing his\u00a0own computer system engineering company in 1979. He entered the university after high school and graduated in civil engineering. His sport activities began in 1991 in the field of swimming and he could achieve the provincial championship in this field. In 2005, he began training the art of Aikido with Sensei Rafati in Higer sport center in Tehran. After a year because of the closure of the Higer sport center, he passed a short time training with Sensei Arabsorkhi and again resumed training with Sensei Rafati in Shahid Chamran (Bowling abdo)
